Glenn here, finally joining up :D (yeah I took my time too hehe) Most of you guys already know me, or have seen me many a time around replay/tops.

For people who don't know me, I watch ALOT of anime, Im obsessed with cosplay, im a casual console gamer- I play PS2/Wii/DS (mainly old skool fighters/rpg's/pretty much any game based off an anime) and ddr is my drug, and has been for 4 years.

Took my sweet time, didn't I?

Anyway, most of you know me.  Lex, Alex, Pidgeon.  whatever, really.  If you don't know me: I'm the really, really short uni girl who is at TOPS or Replay almost every day, mostly when I'm meant to be at uni.

Cheers.

Stags here, Joel said I should join. I’m not much of a DDR player but I do find it fun. I DDR when friends ask me to be the second player. I play on the easiest setting and that is enough for me. DDR to me is just a fun social thing. I especially enjoy watching friends put on an impressive show. I know various people here ("waves at them") so it is cool to have somewhere else online I can say hi to them.

however tbh it just isn't good enough. you cant argue with this, players like me, dan, kevin etc. who are all a lot better than you all agree with this. we all get smeg and it's really annoying. Dan gets pad greats like crazy. I dont even bother maing there, its a waste

Hehe you probably don't know me because I read your intro (which was like... very many months old??) and nobody fitting that description crossed my mind v___v

but anyway most of the people on these forums know me from tops and replay.. i'm one of the "newer" DDR players (i've only been playing for about a year) and I don't know very much about the old DDR scene and lol im rambling

old ddr scene is old.

Welcome Averze! Feel free to chat about anything. Not much going on on the DDR front atm, so good to hear from new players. Bring your friends!

What happened to those old days of DDR (When RTF was more active and Legion of Sound was around?) I only hear ... tales... from people like Pascal and Luke who make it seem like some long-lost golden age of dancing simulation.

Then again, there are alot more Heavy players around these days at Tops... people are wanting to increase their skill level at the game... will there be another era where people will come up the elevators and see 2 people playing Legend of Max in sync? I hope there is... but it'll never be as big here as in the US.... <___>;

Oooohh... I have an intro??

Oh that's right... hm... Unfortunately I don't go out and play DDR much anymore. I used to but then started working full time and studying full time... that sorta cut my time back. Now I just study full time but am not in the city as much and DDR in Morayfield is on the expensive side for what it is. So you may not have seen me around recently...

And yes, it seems like the scene is dieing. There are newer players, of course, I think there almost always will be, but we're not as *in touch* with them. Very few of us are regular DDRers now, at least when compared to how much we used to play. It's a shame... it's a good habit.

People had a lot more time back then. Most of us were in school or uni, so we wasted most of the day in the city anyway.

Kinda became a generational thing. So many of us had to take a step back from DDR at the same time we lost touch with all the new people coming in. We try to counter that by running comps when Eddie's in the country, and through this forum of course.

Should get back into those arcade trips if people aren't taking off in the holidays.

And no, we'll never be as big as the US, but if you ask me that's a bonus. Some dudes in the US scene have been complete douchbags.

Hullo hullo  :)

I'll buy whoever remembers me a game at replay if i see them around haha.  I started playing DDR in 1998, was in the top 5 in brisbane during DDR 4th mix era, during RTF's heyday, and then moved onto full-time Drummania and high level Tekken Tag/4/5/5:DR.  Apparently ebe says I'm in RTF, but I'd prefer to have that happen more officially before I use the title.  I was asked to join LoS and i was in it for a while in 2002, and i've helped organise RTF tournaments and shtuff.

Um, now I'm in top 5 DM players in brisbane, and 6th in Aus for Tekken 5:DR.

I also hope a new era of solid DDR happens again!  It'll be great to see some tournaments like we had back in the day, with a huge crowd, and a real air of...  officiality about the whole business.  It really was a golden age of funkiness haha

Anyway, hi to all the people I haven't met, I'm often seen skulking about replay with a scowl and a mohawk, but the scowl's usually from the heat or from some lvl 90+ song on DM, and the mohawk doesn't mean i file my teeth to sharp points and eat children for fun.  Come say hi :)

But I know we've talked to Eddie about it numerous times. If I ever remember to chat to him on MSN, I'll ask him what the deal was  ;D
