Marvellous Attack Sound Party - DDR Competition - May 2
« on: March 10, 2009, 11:38:03 PM »
As announced by Team Leader H.Edward, Team Ranking Task Force's next competition will be taking place on Saturday, May 2.

Marvellous Attack Sound Party will be a DDR Performance Competition, with cash prizes on offer for Single ($200) and Team ($300) performances.

We will also be running a Marvellous Attack event to get everyone involved in the competitive spirit on the day.

MASP will mark RTF's 21st Competition, and H.Edward's first trip back to Australia in 2 years. Whether you have a performance to share with the crowd, or just want to come down and see what others have to show, we hope you'll join RTF at Timezone Albert St for what promises to be a fun day.

The information sheet below is now up at Timezone Albert St, and should be appearing at other Timezone and Replay stores around Brisbane soon. If you have any specific questions about the competition we would be happy to answer them for you. Please register for the forum and leave your comments here.

We will keep this post updated with extra rules information, so please check back here often!

Start Time: Registration at 10:30am, First Round at 11:00am
Dinner: 7:00pm

RTF will also be holding a special After-Comp Dinner as a thankyou to all competitors. A booking has been made at Han Woo Ri restaurant in Mary St, and meal prices will be greatly discounted. We need numbers, so please ensure to let us know before Midday on Competition Day if you would like to be part of the group.

As with every RTF competition, this will include an After-Comp Dinner for all competitors and staff. We are looking for a good local venue, preferably with an 'all you can eat' menu, or a decent selection of meals.

If you have any suggestions, please let us know!

QUESTION.

Do you have to use one or two pads for your performance? (Same question applies to both single and team, can you choose?)

The only stipulation is "edits must have arrows in them".

I assume I can choose to have my single performance on one or both pads then?

Second question. Which version of DDR X do we have in Replay? Japan or US? (or other???)

I don't want to use the wrong resources.

Yes, that's right.  It's performance so double/single is ok.

Asian version.  If you want to make edits, you'll need the JP version, and you'll need to rename the file it makes from DDR_EDIT_J.DAT to DDR_EDIT_A.DAT.

I don't want to make edits. I just want to make sure I choose a song which will actually BE on the machine. (I hear there are differences between arcade versions re: song lists)

Nah, the arcade versions are all the same, but some songs might be unlocked on the Japanese machines that aren't without e-amusement (which we don't have).  All old songs are there, though.  That is, all old songs in the JP or US version are in ours.

I considered Saber Wing on Light (or Beginner, which is much easier) but I don't know if that's available on the first stage. Oh well.

On a slightly related topic...

Who here is actually planning on doing a performance?

Team or single?

I wanted to do a team but apparently no one else wanted to :(

I was going to do one with Joel but he had to pull out.  I don't have a single one to take its place and I haven't had the time to make one yet.  Nothing guaranteed because I've felt physically drained lately and pretty much as soon as I get home from work I fall asleep...in fact I spend most weekends mostly sleeping.
