All Hail FeedBot: External RSS News Feeds
« on: August 04, 2010, 01:48:32 AM »
We're playing around with some new features for the forum, one of which is an RSS poster.

FeedBot has been created to post articles gleaned from RSS feeds. At present we only have the news feed from Bemanistyle, but other news outlets will be added by request. Please reply below with any sites you think we should be following.

This won't be terribly useful for those of you who already visit such sites regularly. However, for those of us who don't, this will collect together news from the music game world in one convenient location.

The RSS add-on doesn't translate HTML into BBCode, so I've had to turn off HTML in the feed. This means we miss out on images and embedded videos for now, but you can always click on the included link to view the full article.

Oh, and if anyone wants to put forward an avatar for FeedBot, she would be very grateful ;D

Feedbot will die from time to time as she's operated via an external CRON site, and I have to go there and click 'renew' once a month (or pay for it).

I'll go renew it now.

I have added the news feed from Zenius -I- vanisher.com to FeedBot's list. I've made some tweaks to the config, so the first few posts are wonky, but anything further should load correctly.

Once again, if there's any Bemani or music gaming news sites you would like the headlines from, please let me know and I'll get FeedBot right on it.

The RSS feed has been working for a year without problems. It stopped working about at the time, when all this "blog-work" started?.
