One song I've always wanted to see played on a DDR or ITG machine was Infected Mushroom - I Wish (Skazi Remix). It's a really great progressive psychedelic trance song. Not the whole song, but just one of the many awesome synthesized 'solos'. The solos were reminiscent to the sort of tracks you'd hear on beatmania and just sounds like it would feel at home in a bemani game. I could slash it up into parts and convert it into .ogg easily enough, but when it comes to making a step file that would be both fun and hard, I'll probably need one of you to help me make one good enough to be considered challenging.  :D

You should check some of the SM communities and see if anyone's done it. From the sounds of it (and the fact that I've heard of the artist regularly, although I'm not directly familiar with them) chances are someone's done something you might like.

I've been thinking about making a dragonforce ITG song and I've concluded that it's not actually possible to do a track long enough to do them justice. I mean come on, two minutes? Most of dragonforce's guitar battles and epic solos last longer than that. Fury of the storm had what, four and a half minutes of riffs, solos and a battle at the end? Back to back?

of course!

rock and derived styles don't really have a place in dancing games. maybe the other music games but eh.

that said industrial is acceptable, i;m just not looking forward to all the Faith kiddies with their death-trance remixes of static-x and rammestien who might find out about this.

I have One More Lovely much?

Anyway... Only recently have I been getting into ITG, only been down to Kapow twice so far (USB was pissing me off both times so no R21 fun) but I think I've got it together finally.

I personally couldn't understand playing anything mainstream (in retrospect to DDR/ITG style music)... that kind of music deserves dancing more elegant than vibrating on 4 panels - save that for the DJ Sharpnels and the M1dy's and the DM Ashuras

Speaking of which, I made this DOABLE Speedcore Dandy edit on stepmania... maybe I should crank up the volume and see what happens when everyone in the arcade hears the lyrics kekekekekekek  ;D

however tbh it just isn't good enough. you cant argue with this, players like me, dan, kevin etc. who are all a lot better than you all agree with this. we all get smeg and it's really annoying. Dan gets pad greats like crazy. I dont even bother maing there, its a waste

Holy smeg, you made a doable speedcore dandy? If you turn that up the manager's probably going to walk out to the front and think the CD in the machine is skipping. :P

If I were to make an ITG track, which I'm thinking of doing soon, it'l most likely be a DnB track. Dieselboy, Prodigy, Pendulum, Evol Intent, Kaos and Styles Of Beyond all deserve a place on ITG. Mad thrashing breakbeats? Beats so phat they should be illegal? 300+ natural BPMs? Enough bass to push your spleen into your back pocket? Yes sir, they all have that in spades, and then some!

The Berzerker have to be one of the worst Australian metal bands I have ever seen live...

Their cover of Carcass' Corporal Jigsaw Quandary is really good though.

I have given the titles BOSS, EXTRA and SECRET to give a general idea of difficulties

At this time I've only completed Erasermotor Maximum, have made preliminary charts for Go Beyond! and Gekkou, but aren't happy with them (and syncing didn't turn out well), so will probably redo them.

Problem is I recently heard something about cracking these machines on a non-ITG dedicab (eg a DDR cab with ITG in it) will cause problems, because Linux displays at a resolution the cabinet can't understand.  Don't know if that's true because I crashed the old one in Replay and saw a LILO boot screen come up, but it's daunting.

Besides, people can compress the OGGs, and OGGs are pretty small anyways compared to MP3s it would seem...

"an upgrade"   ;)

I wasn't directly involved with any of the hacking, but I heard there were issues with the screen (I think it started in the middle and wrapped around to the other side or something weird like that).  If something happens and you can't read it at all, you can always just call it quits and restart the machine without doing anything.

who is Evan???

I hear he's some friend who plays ITG.  He's not very good.

probably, coz its the only itg2 cab in adelaide afaik

This is true.
