Just in from GurtyGurt: V4 installed at Replay
« on: September 28, 2007, 02:02:15 PM »
Just got an SMS from GurtyGurt, who says that DM/GF V4 is being installed at Replay right now.

No work done on the controllers at this stage. And last I played both of the GF straps had broken and been replaced with tiny bag straps that weren't fastened at the ends :/

I dont think we'll get gold...but that means that the new IIDX cab and program should be in relatively soon.

IIDX doesn't make as much money as DM does.
And he knows if he updates DM he has to update GF with it or noone will play that.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a IIDX update. Although it would be nice.

I heard rumours of a IIDX update. Can't remember the details though.

Sorry I got everyone's hopes up.
Both machines are a complete frigging wreck.

Staff have removed the Hi-Hat from the DM machine, and left a note instructing everyone to play on Auto-Hi-Hat. This didn't seem to solve the issue of difficulty selection, although I now realise that can be selected through the alternative-sort.

P2 on GF is as wrecked as ever. Staff informed my he'd replaced one of the buttons today. It didn't help.
P1 on GF has the same problem I've always had with it, where the pick double-registers because of the way I play. And the strap is taped and tied, so you must play Tom Morello style - no exceptions.

What is the point of buying an upgrade, Replay, if you leave the machines in WORSE condition after it's installed?

OK, Hi-Hat has been replaced and is working OK. Still double-registers sometimes, but works fine for regular play.
Cymbal is now a problem. It registers well enough for single hits, but if you have any rolls it seems to register the first hit, then miss the rest.

Put about $20 into the machine this evening. So much fun. I'd forgotten how awesome Complete Conquest is. And Riff Riff Paradise is nowhere near as hard as they've rated it, except for maybe one bit in there that I passed easily coz I was playing Auto-Cymbal (due to the above mention malfunction). And that cover of Fat Lip is a lot better than some other covers they've used in the past. Pity it's not the whole song tho :(

Watched TSU play Battle Mode. Interesting idea. Don't fully understand how it works yet.

Tsu and I love to play Battle mode ~~

the "CPU" is so weird with the Skill point.

Skill Point of 1350 CPU versus Tsu (SP14xx) while playing "WE ARE"

CPU won with 99% Perfect and full comboed whereas TSU got 98% perfect with full comboed too..

==========================================================================

Battle Mode is very good for people who don't want to fail while practicing the songs.
I've been trying to deal with the bass(paddle) on " Nemesis" <----Good song!!!! I like it ! :D

hmmm  if i could find the timing right off the bat for the huge drumroll at the beginning of nemesis i could full combo it.  i always drop a couple of hihats and then fudge up the green tom :(

battle mode seems kind of silly, if ghost data doesn't work. i liked nonstop for the ridiculous combos you could rack up.

Yay for volume, the music bit is hard to do when the arcade is full of people and the machine is kinda soft.
